Clearly they were made of crate wood that was lying around
and I have done a bit of repair to the top side seams
but it has definitely lived in this 19th c silhouette type frame for quite a long time
otherwise it is in good shape

I take the box for a glove box, just long enough to house the very gloves she has on. What makes this especially special to me is that it is inscribed, via inlay, on the exterior rear side (and dated 1897)
