Printing

Strategic commitment.
Our business focus is based on a clearly defined strategy: to cover segments of target markets that demand the highest quality in packaging material printing. Accordingly, we have chosen central drum printing technology, which has proven to be the most suitable for printing on thin films. The printing capacity of up to ten colors allows us to achieve complex graphic solutions, meeting all the requirements of modern design and branding.

Technological foundation.
At the core of our production process are four state-of-the-art flexographic machines, with a maximum printing material width of up to 1500 mm. The equipment is designed for high productivity, precision, and energy efficiency, while fully complying with environmental standards. All machines feature the following characteristics:
• 100% real-time print inspection systems that ensure consistent quality without deviation.
• Automated washing and registration systems that reduce setup time and waste.
• Technological solutions with reduced CO₂ emissions, in line with the principles of sustainable production.
• High efficiency in handling large print runs while maintaining process precision and stability.
This infrastructure enables flexibility in working with various types of packaging materials, as well as reliable fulfillment of client requirements across different industrial sectors.

Decorative techniques.
As part of the added value we offer, we have developed specialized decorative techniques that give packaging both visual and tactile appeal:
• Spot varnishing, available in matte and glossy finishes, allows key design elements to stand out.
• Surface texturizing technique with a "paper touch" effect provides a sophisticated feel that mimics the texture of paper.
• Possibility of customization according to the client’s brand identity, with precise control over visual impression and finishing.

Color management.

Color Management – Within our production process, we have implemented a modern color management system based on a next-generation professional ink kitchen setup. The equipment includes an automatic dispersion system for ink preparation, directly connected to advanced software solutions for shade formulation and precise measuring instruments. This integration ensures high efficiency, accuracy, and control at every stage of the process.
Key advantages of the system:
• Fast and accurate color shade creation in accordance with technical specifications and clients’ visual requirements.
• High color consistency across different production batches.
• Complete traceability from formulation to application.
• Flexibility in adapting colors to different materials and printing techniques.
The system also includes tools for profiling monitors, printing machines, and digital printers, as well as their mutual calibration within a defined color space. This ensures realistic print simulation through proofing processes, maintaining consistency of the packaging’s visual identity and minimizing the risk of deviations in final production.
This approach to color management combines advanced equipment with intelligent software control, ensuring stable, predictable, and high-quality results at all stages of production.

Polyethylene film co-extrusion line.

Co-Extrusion

In line with the specific technological requirements of packaging materials present in the markets we strategically target, and recognizing the need for complete control over the technical characteristics of our products, an investment has been made in two modern co-extrusion machines for the production of polyethylene (PE) film — one three-layer and one five-layer — with a total annual capacity exceeding 4,000 tons.
The five-layer line stands out for its ability to produce technically advanced films with precisely defined barrier, mechanical, and optical properties. Thanks to a high degree of flexibility in layer formulation, it enables the development of structures tailored to specialized packaging requirements, including:
• Vacuum packaging and pasteurization.
• Extended product freshness.
• High packaging speed.
• Specific requirements regarding sealing, transparency, and durability.
Both lines are equipped with PE film recycling systems, electronic bubble stability control, and automated raw material dosing using the gravimetric method. These technological solutions ensure uniform distribution of functional properties across the entire material surface, while providing high energy efficiency and reducing production waste.
The resulting co-extruded PE film is characterized by ideal mechanical properties for printing and lamination. Thicknesses range between 25 and 200 microns, with a maximum width of up to 1,600 mm, fully meeting the needs of our target markets.
The films are used in packaging for:
• Detergents and chemical products.
• Frozen and fresh food.
• Milk and dairy products.
• Paper and cotton products (toilet paper, tissues, sanitary pads).
• Granular and powdered products.

Prepress

In cooperation with the company “ESKO Artwork.”, The “Comex” prepress department is equipped with modern graphic technologies and tools. Today, the “Comex” graphic preparation department operates with the following ESKO software:

The “Automation Engine” software sets a new standard for establishing an automated workflow in the prepress department, allowing tracking of every stage regardless of its duration. This software reduces the number of errors and increases efficiency.

“Flexrip” is a product developed by “ESKO,” designed for the preparation (rasterization) of files for plate imaging in the printing process. With a wide range of screen rulings, dot shapes, and screening types, “Flexrip” allows easy adjustment of the rasterization and file preparation process for all printing techniques. “Flexrip” supports conventional (AM), stochastic (FM), and hybrid (Samba) screening technologies.

„Flexproof“ je odgovor na rastuću potrebu za probnim otiskom u industriji ambalaže. U savremenom načinu komunikacije između štamparije i dizajn agencija i marketing odeljenja kupaca probni otisak predstavlja univerzalni jezik komuniciranja. Probni otisak obezbeđuje uočavanje grešaka u najranijoj fazi radnog toka.

“Artpro” enables faster and more precise processing of electronic files, offering features such as automatic trapping, combining different screen rulings within the same separation, and many other options unavailable in “Adobe Illustrator.” “Artpro” supports all industry-standard file formats.

“Desk Pack” is a plug-in for “Adobe Photoshop” and “Adobe Illustrator.” It features two powerful tools — “Flexo Tools” and “Flexo Inks” — which, when combined, allow photo editing without loss of quality or contrast. The “Flexo Inks” tool provides extensive options for combining existing colors within a design to achieve specific color shades.

“HD Flexo,” through the use of an HD laser head for engraving photopolymer plates, enhances the quality of printing plate production by increasing output resolution and thereby improving print quality. “HD Flexo” provides an output resolution of 4,000 dpi on the imager instead of the previous 2,540 dpi. The high resolution contributes to superior printing of fine halftone gradients with exceptional sharpness. Flexo technology allows printing of halftone values below 3% thanks to a special screening method using “supported dots” technology. In addition to enabling low halftone values in printing, the new technology also improves solid area printing through “microcells” technology, which ensures better ink transfer to the printing substrate.
